2012 Backyard Chicken Workshop!
The General Public is invited to the 2012 Backyard Chicken Workshop!
This workshop is designed to educate the public on caring for and raising backyard chickens, managing them in limited areas, and increasing knowledge on chicken health and wellness. There will also be information on housing and egg production, and the city policies and ordinances.
The workshop will be held Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the CSU Extension office. Pre-register by March 1st.

Small Scale or Backyard Composting Website
A significant fraction of the solid waste generated in the
U.S. is organic material like yard trimmings and food scraps
that can be recycled through small-scale composting. The Cornell
Waste Management Institute has a website: http://cwmi.css.cornell.edu/composting.htm.
The site provides information for both composters and for
educators seeking to promote home composting. Resources include
a guide for developing Master Composter programs, information
relevant to composting at schools, as well as fact sheets and
videos.
